The Italian university system has consolidated everything into one highly sophisticated, unified powerhouse test: the CEnT-S. Let's break it down to the molecular level.
Who is this Boss Fight for?
The CEnT-S is the mandatory national entrance exam for almost all English-taught Bachelor’s degrees in STEM and Economics fields across Italy's prestigious public universities (like Politecnico di Milano, University of Bologna, Sapienza, etc.). If your dream degree falls into one of the categories below, you cannot escape this test.

THE WEIGHTING TRICK ⚠️
Everyone takes the exact same CEnT-S exam, but universities weigh the sections differently! An Engineering school will heavily multiply your Math and Physics scores, while an Economics school might completely ignore Physics and only calculate your Math + Reasoning score. Always check your specific university's admission call!
The 5 Levels (Structure & Ultimate Syllabus)
You have exactly 110 minutes to clear 55 questions.
🔥 THE GOLDEN RULE: Time is strictly divided by section. If the 30 minutes for Math are over, the portal instantly locks the Math section. You cannot go back to check your answers later. You must manage time perfectly within each level.
LVL 1 Mathematics
The No-Calculator Challenge. You are strictly forbidden from using calculators. You must master rapid hand-calculations, fractions, and core algebraic manipulation. If you are weak at mental math, you will run out of time here.
LVL 2 Reasoning
The Wildcard Section. Many international students fail here because it requires pure deductive logic and rapid data interpretation under extreme pressure. It is not about knowing formulas; it's about how fast your brain processes complex text.
LVL 3 Biology
Fast-paced factual recall. You have exactly 2 minutes per question. You either know it or you don't. Do not waste time thinking; answer and move on.
LVL 4 Chemistry
Good news: An on-screen Periodic Table is provided! However, the questions heavily focus on stoichiometry, meaning lots of hand calculations with moles and concentrations.
LVL 5 Physics
The Speed Round. Only 5 questions, but they require rapid formula application. Do not get stuck here; if a calculation takes more than 2 minutes, skip and guess to save your score.
The Anti-Luck Algorithm: Scoring System
"What if I take the exam on Tuesday and get a brutal test, but my friend takes it on Wednesday and gets an incredibly easy test?"

At the end of every testing window (Macro-Period), the CISIA supercomputer analyzes the performance of ALL students across Italy on every specific question.
↑If the data shows your specific test questions were statistically more difficult than the national average, you receive a HIGH normalization coefficient (bonus points).
↓If your test questions were standard or easier, the coefficient is lower.
The 2026 Macro-Periods (Dates)
You may only take the exam ONCE per Macro-Period. You cannot take the exam three times in the Winter period.
The most critical thing to understand is that if you are a Non-EU student applying for a Visa, your timeline is brutally short. Read the warning below carefully.

CRITICAL VISA DEADLINE 🛑
If you are a Non-EU citizen requiring a Student Visa, you CANNOT take the test in Period 3 or 4. Many Italian universities close their international applications entirely before June to allow enough time for embassy paperwork. If you wait until Period 3 (results on June 30), you will miss the university deadline and lose an entire year. You MUST take the exam in Period 1 or 2!
Where to take it? The @HOME Setup
Italian residents can take the exam in a physical university computer lab (@CAMPUS). However, international students will take the CEnT @HOME version from their own country.
Be Warned: CISIA uses draconian anti-cheat measures. Human proctors watch you live, and AI tracks your eye movements. If you break a rule, the proctor will terminate your exam instantly without a refund.
1. Main Laptop
Must have a working webcam, microphone, stable internet, and be plugged into the wall. You will be forced to install the SEB (Safe Exam Browser) which locks your entire computer.
2. Second Camera
Mandatory! You must join a Zoom call on your smartphone/tablet and place it exactly behind you at a 45° angle. The proctor must see your screen, your hands, and your desk at all times.
3. Sterile Room
You must be alone in a closed room. NO headphones, NO smartwatches, NO dual monitors, NO books on the walls. Only blank scratch paper and a pen are allowed.

Register on the official CISIA Student Area. Enter your personal details exactly as they appear on your passport.

From the dashboard, strictly select "CEnT-S". Do not accidentally select the Italian version (TOLC-S).

Book Date & Mode (@HOME)
Pick your preferred date from the calendar and select the @HOME testing mode. Select any Italian university from the dropdown (it doesn't matter which one you select for @HOME, the score is valid everywhere).

Upload a clear scan of your Passport. Pay the mandatory €55 fee via credit card.
MANDATORY RULE: Registration closes exactly 5–7 days before the exam date at 14:00 CET! Don't wait until the last minute!
