Ciao! 👋 If you want to study Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Computer Science in Italy, the English TOLC-I (Test On Line CISIA - Ingegneria) is the absolute gatekeeper. Unlike medical exams, this test heavily favors raw mathematical processing speed and pure logic. Let's break down the algorithm to guarantee your admission. 🇮🇹
Who is this Boss Fight for?
The English TOLC-I is required by Italy's top-ranked tech and engineering universities. If your goal is to study any of the following degrees in English, this test is your top priority.
Computer Science & AI
Programs at Sapienza University of Rome, University of Pavia, and Tor Vergata.
Engineering
Mechanical, Civil, and Aerospace at Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) and Politecnico di Milano.
Data Science
Cutting-edge data analytics programs across various Italian public universities.
The 4 Levels (Structure & Ultimate Syllabus)
You have exactly 110 minutes to clear 50 questions.
🔥 THE GOLDEN RULE: Time is strictly divided by section. If the 50 minutes for Math are over, the portal instantly locks the Math section. You cannot go back. You must manage time perfectly within each level.
LVL 1 Mathematics
The Core Engine. This is the most heavily weighted section. 50 minutes might seem like a lot, but without a calculator, processing 20 complex algebraic and trigonometric problems requires extreme mental agility.
LVL 2 Logic
The Brain Teaser. Evaluates pure deductive reasoning and problem-solving. This section acts as a filter to weed out students who simply memorized formulas but lack critical thinking.
LVL 3 Sciences (Phys/Chem)
The Dual Threat. A mix of Physics and Basic Chemistry. Engineering programs expect high scores here, especially in mechanics and electromagnetism.
LVL 4 Reading Comp.
The Speed Reader. You will be given dense scientific or technical texts and must answer questions based strictly on the provided text.
The Scoring System
The English TOLC-I uses a standardized point system. To reach the top universities, you generally need a score of 35+ out of 50 depending on the applicant pool and the university's specific threshold.
+1.00
Correct Answer
0.00
No Answer (Blank)
-0.25
Wrong Answer
💡 STRATEGY: Do not randomly guess! A -0.25 penalty can destroy your ranking. If you cannot eliminate at least 3 out of 5 options, leave it blank (0.00).
Where to take it? The @HOME Setup
International students will take the TOLC @HOME version. CISIA uses draconian anti-cheat measures. If you break a rule, the proctor will terminate your exam instantly.
1. SEB Browser
You must install the Safe Exam Browser on your main laptop. It locks out all other programs, preventing any cheating.
2. Dual Camera
You must join a Zoom call on your smartphone and place it behind you at a 45° angle. The proctor watches your screen and hands.
3. Sterile Room
Completely clear desk. NO headphones, NO smartwatches, NO other people. Only blank scratch paper and a pen allowed.
