EU-Equivalence Strict Deadline
Non-EU applicants claiming EU-equivalent status (holding valid Italian permit of stay, etc. pursuant to Art. 26 Law 189/2002) must fulfill the eligibility conditions strictly by the Universitaly registration deadline of 9 September 2026 (15:00 CEST). Switching quotas after submission is prohibited.

Test Venue & Examination Day Protocols (Quartiere Fieristico di Bologna)

For candidates sitting the exam in Bologna, the official test venue is located at the Quartiere Fieristico di Bologna (Bologna Trade Fair District) – Bologna Fiere SPA – Piazza della Costituzione – Area Biglietterie Ingresso Bologna Fiere.

Roll Call & ScheduleRoll call begins promptly in the morning (10:30 AM). The exam commences strictly at 13:30 CEST (100 minutes, 60 questions).
Stationery & DevicesNo personal pens, rough paper, electronic devices, bags, or smartwatches allowed. Only the UniBO-provided black ballpoint pen may be used.

CRITICAL: Compulsory Studenti Online Step for All Non-EU Candidates

Registering on Universitaly is NOT enough for Bologna! Between 10 September 2026 (13:00 CEST) and 5 October 2026 (13:00 CEST), all Non-EU candidates (both EU-equivalent and Non-EU abroad) MUST complete their online profile on UniBO's platform:

Access Studenti Online (www.studenti.unibo.it): Register using SPID/CIE (if available) or create credentials via the “International Student Registration” section without an Italian tax code.

Select Selection Program: Go to “Admission application – Take part in the selection” > “Single cycle degree program” > Select “IMAT - non-EU citizens”.

Specify Category & Upload Docs: Choose either “NON-EU CITIZEN WITH EU EQUIVALENT STATUS” (upload permit of stay / exam certs) OR “NON-EU CITIZEN RESIDING ABROAD”.
WARNING: Non-EU citizens residing abroad who fail to register on Studenti Online by 5 October (13:00) will NOT be able to view their local ranking results on 13 October, and will permanently forfeit their admission and seat!

3. Enrolment Procedure & First Installment (Section 10)

Log in to Studenti Online

Log in at www.studenti.unibo.it with your UNIBO credentials or SPID. Click on “Registration”, select “Single Cycle Degree Programs” and choose either “Medicine and Surgery” or “Veterinary Medicine”.

Data Entry & Passport Photo Upload

Fill out the enrollment form with accurate personal data and upload a recent passport-format digital photograph.

Payment of 1st Tuition Installment

Pay the first installment via PagoPA directly on Studenti Online within the strict 4-day deadline. Failure to pay within the deadline results in total forfeiture of the seat.

Activation of Career & Student Badge

Once payment is verified, student careers are activated (SPID users activated immediately; non-SPID / international documents verified by the International Student Administration Office in Via Marsala 49/A, Bologna). You will receive instructions to collect your university badge and access Wi-Fi, study plans, and exam bookings.
