2. Test Venue Assignment & Test Day Protocol (Article 2 & 4)

Padua Convocation & Venue Publication

Under Article 2, if a candidate selects either University of Padua (MedTech) or Medicine and Surgery (Venice Seat) as their first preference in Italy, they are mandatory bound to sit the IMAT examination in Padua. No exceptions or location changes are permitted within Italy.

Official Allocation Notice: On 18 September 2026, a specific decree document will be published on the portal https://www.unipd.it/ammissioni-medicine-surgery assigning candidates to their specific classrooms, buildings, and reporting times. Candidates will be distributed strictly by age (birthdate), except for twins.
Test Timing

IMAT takes place on 17 September 2026 at 13:30 CEST. Total duration is 100 minutes for 60 questions. Candidates must arrive early for identity verification.

Exam Materials

Only the black pen provided by UniPD in the examination room is permitted. Personal pens, stationery, smartwatches, phones, or notes are strictly forbidden under penalty of immediate disqualification.

Answer Marking Rules

Mark answers with an X inside the box. To correct, blacken the previous box completely and place an X in a new box. Use the small circular bubble to indicate a deliberately omitted answer.

3. Mandatory OFA (Additional Learning Requirements) Cutoffs (Article 3.2)

Subject-Specific Minimum Scores for UniPD

Even if you achieve admission through the national ranking list, UniPD imposes specific section score thresholds under Article 3.2. Candidates who score below any of these minimums will be assigned an OFA (Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi) deficiency that must be cleared during the first year:

OFA Consequences: OFA courses are extracurricular learning activities recorded on the student transcript. Failure to clear OFA debt by the specified deadlines may prevent registration for subsequent year examinations. 4. Special Accommodations & SLD Support (Article 4.2)

Candidates with recognized disabilities (Law 104/1992) or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD / DSA pursuant to Law 170/2010) who require compensatory measures or extra time must submit their request directly to UniPD:

  • Disability candidates: extra time up to +50%.
  • SLD / DSA candidates: extra time up to +30%.
  • Include civil disability certificate (NO OMISSIS) or SLD diagnosis.

Documentation Grace Period

SLD candidates may apply with existing documentation even if technically expired, provided updated university-level documentation is submitted to inclusione.studenti@unipd.it by 30 September 2026.

Note: Personalized Educational Plans (PDP) or diagnoses issued by non-accredited private practitioners are strictly rejected.

5. Enrollment Procedure & Uniweb Portal (Article 5 & 7)

EU & EU-Equivalent Candidates

Following publication of national ranking on 26 October 2026:

  1. Candidates placed as ASSIGNED (Assegnato) must complete enrollment on the UniPD Uniweb portal (www.uniweb.unipd.it) within 4 days (including publication day, excluding Saturdays and holidays).
  2. Pay the first installment fee through PagoPA on Uniweb. Failure to enroll within the 4-day window causes permanent forfeiture of your seat.
  3. BOOKED (Prenotato) candidates may either enroll immediately at UniPD or declare "conferma di interesse" on Universitaly to wait for subsequent scrolling rounds.

Non-EU Residing Abroad Candidates

UniPD maintains a dedicated local ranking list for non-EU applicants:

  1. Local ranking published on 26 October 2026 on https://www.unipd.it/ammissioni-medicine-surgery.
  2. Register on Uniweb (www.uniweb.unipd.it) and submit online enrollment application.
  3. Upon arrival in Italy, submit original legalised diplomas and Declaration of Value (DOV) or CIMEA Statement of Comparability to the Global Engagement Office (international.admission@unipd.it).
Transfer / Prior Credit Recognition (Article 6): For the 2026/27 academic year, the Medicine and Surgery - MedTech degree programme only activates Year 1. Regardless of previously acquired ECTS, transfer applicants must sit the IMAT and compete on identical terms for Year 1 admission.
